Reopening of Frinton Community Centre

     Notice to Members

Frinton Community Centre will reopen from Monday 12 April 2021 for membership renewals/new memberships. The reception desk will be open to issue renewal and new memberships every weekday between 10am and midday.

The membership fee for current and new members until the end of December 2021 has been set at £20 by the Frinton Community Association Management Committee. The committee appreciates that this figure will concern some members who have been unable to use facilities either because of Covid restrictions or through the centre being closed for several months during lockdown.

However, it will not come as a surprise to hear that the community centre has lost a significant amount of revenue during the past year through partial opening, then closure and organisations have been unable to meet (and therefore unable to generate income) for the vast majority of this time.

Financially, it boils down to two facts:

  • Without Government support the centre would already have closed permanently

  • Without membership support now, and in the months ahead, the centre will be unable to keep going.

Apart from attempting to manage the crippling impact of lost income over the past 12 months, the centre urgently requires funds for essential improvements which include a new alarm system, a new lift and new flooring. The Management Committee’s appeal to all members is unequivocal: support your community centre or lose it.

Provisional plans are being made to restart all activities from Monday 17th May, with Covid restrictions in place.

The Tea bar will reopen on Monday 17th May

 (times to be confirmed)

The bar reopening date will be Friday 21st May. The opening times until the restrictions ease will be:

Fridays 12pm-5pm

Saturdays 12pm-5pm

Sundays 12pm-6pm

These dates are subject to continued compliance with the Government’s roadmap to ease coronavirus restrictions.

We look forward to welcoming you back!
